Dual-stage petrol snow blowers are suitable for medium-sized properties and small businesses.
They are powerful and have both an auger in front, usually hard-wearing metal and toothed to break up both snow and ice.
Behind the auger is a secondary implement, an impeller (a sort of fan) that spins on a vertical axis, breaks up the snow further and throws it up and further away from the machine than a single stage is able to do.

Dual-stage snow blowers can, generally, clear a wider path than a single-stage snow blower and the snow intake at the front is generally much higher than single-stage machines, enabling deeper falls and drifts of snow to be tackled. (See image below for example)
