- Do always clean your tines wherever possible before using your cultivator, tiller or rotavator, to make sure of the best results.
- Don't forget to check how soft or hard the ground is before you start as cultivating in wet soil can be counter-productive
- Do remember that when you are cultivating there is a lot of soil, grit and dirt flying around so clean the cap when filling up with fuel. If any dirt gets into your engine it can cause all sorts of problems. *
- Don't forget to make sure you have lubricated the engine before you start working (see our FAQ How Much Oil Should I Use In A cultivator, tiller or rotavator)
Advisor's safety tip: It's also worth remembering that that soil and grit can also fly up at you so think about investing in a pair of good safety goggles.
